Most of our fabrics share these specs:
Composition: 100% polyester microfiber
Width: 58–60 inches
Pile height: approximately 3–5mm, depending on the texture
Care: machine wash cold, air dry, no heat (full details in "How to wash and care for your fabric")
A few things to keep in mind when planning a project:
Width matters for yardage. At 58–60 inches wide, you may need fewer yards than a pattern written for 44-inch quilting cotton assumes. Check your pattern's required width.
Nap direction. Minky has a pile that runs in one direction. For a consistent look (especially on large pieces), cut all panels with the nap running the same way.
Stretch. As a knit, minky has slight give. A walking foot and a stretch or ballpoint needle make sewing much easier.
